I like what James Russell Lowell said on the subject of ACTION:
“All the beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less than a single lovely action.”
Many of us (including me) have misinterpreted lovely sentiments as love. True love is not merely sentimentalism as we are inclined to believe, regardless how deep and moving those sentiments may be. True love is revealed in actions and deeds and may I say, above all, SERVICE to those of WHOM we love.
How many times have we seen contrite souls offer themselves at an altar of dedication with tears streaming down their faces with strong emotional sentiments but never once turn a hand of service to the One whom they profess to love?
Mere sentimentalism is not true love; actions, deeds and service is the only way to express it.
Let us determine to advance the beautiful kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, whom we love supremely, by our deeds.
