I don’t know how long I had been dreaming in the night before I woke up this morning. It seemed that I had been dreaming most of the night.
In the dream, a well known prophecy teacher came to teach us the book of Revelation. After listening to him for a while, I asked him to explain Revelation 1:8….:
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
One might expect that anyone who claims to be a teacher of the book of the Revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, would be ready and delighted in giving an enlightened explanation as to the “person” of our Lord, as it is revealed in the very beginning of the revelation in the first chapter…in the eighth verse and continually reiterated in other portions of the Revelation.
After a great length of time, you could almost see him squirm as he gave the most confused, garbled and incoherent exposition of nothingness. It soon became apparent that he had absolutely no understanding light as to the Divine Person of our Lord Jesus. It was so pitiful that it would be a disservice to the teaching profession to address him as a Teacher on the subject of the Revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Obviously, if this esteemed teacher could not manifest any light as to the Divine Person how could he be expected to manifest any light concerning the WORK of our Lord Jesus Christ. He should have known that the PERSON and the WORK of Jesus Christ is integral, indivisible. How can anyone with no light as to the Divine Person of our Lord, have any light as to the WORK of our Lord? The divine light of our Lord Jesus Christ shines upon his Word revealing His Work in the following and subsequent chapters of The Revelation. As I was dreaming early this morning, it soon became apparent to me that without the light concerning the Divine Person, there can be no light concerning the Word and Work of our Lord from the first verse of chapter one to the last verse in chapter 22.
Yet, the light and understanding of the people of God have led them away into captivity, as to the Word and Work of God through the teachings of C.I. Scofield, Clarence Larkin, et al, handed down to them from John Darby of the Plymouth Brethren who received the writings of a 17th century Jesuit Priest, Immanuel Lacunza. Since our Apostolic prophecy teachers claim to have the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ as to the ONLY Divine Person of God, how is it that they seem not to have any Divine Light on the WORK of God as revealed in the letter of the Word in the book of the Revelation?
These garbled, confused Babylonian teachings have been handed down to us through our Baptist, Fundamentalist and Apostolic Bible colleges until the darkness of it has permeated and settled in us until…
Psa 137:1–6, “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion How shall we sing the LORD’S song in a strange land? If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.”
In my earliest memories of my own short 83 years, born in an Apostolic preachers home in August of 1940 and the several “Jesus Only” Churches of my earliest childhood until now, I have witnessed the ever-so-slowly diminishing glory of the Lord from then to now. In my dream last night, I realized that it is all attributable to the loss of light of the Revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, revealed in the BOOK of Revelation.
Lately, I’ve been thinking that I might would like to go to Mexico and finish out my last few days there working for our Lord. I’ve changed my mind. I have a lot of work to do here, lest we forget Jerusalem, the City of God. Lest we all settle down by the rivers of Babylon and drink the waters of Confusion, we must stir ourselves and not be content here.
My dream from last night has me greatly stirred.
